WWU to host Oct. 5 talk on politics and the environment

BELLINGHAM - A Whatcom County councilwoman and a political strategist will give a presentation titled "Environmental Concerns and the Political Process," Friday, Oct. 5, at Western Washington University.

The free public talk by Councilwoman Kathy Kershner and political blogger Riley Sweeney starts at 3 p.m. in Western's Communications Facility building, Room 125. They will discuss how to enact environmental policies through the political system, and how to communicate the prioritizing and trade-offs that process can require.

A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation, which is part of the Huxley College of the Environment Speaker Series. Details: 360-650-3520.
