A battle of two of the top three teams in the Northwest Conference boys' tennis standings turned into a one-sided victory for Sehome as the Mariners won at Burlington-Edison 7-0 on Monday, Oct. 1.
The win improved the Mariners to 14-1, 11-0 NWC while the Tigers dropped to 7-5, 7-4 NWC.
Sehome lost just two games in four singles matches as Avery West, Nick Smith, Brady Anderson and Johan Lahud-Zahner all easily won. The Mariners had straight-set doubles wins from Andrew Bruce/Jason Newell, Ben Carroll/Max Shmotolokha and Jake Albert/Evan Miksovsky.
"Every guy in every position played really well," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "It was fun watching them."
