With daylight hours steadily decreasing, local auto repair and supply companies want to make sure Whatcom County drivers have their vehicle lights in good working order.
In support of National Car Care Month, the Automotive Service Association of Washington will conduct inspections and replace faulty standard exterior vehicle bulbs free of charge.
The Lights-On program will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at two Whatcom County locations: Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Ave., and Everson Elementary School, 216 Everson-Goshen Road.
The inspections will be performed by local technicians and automotive technology students.
Exterior bulb replacements include headlamps, with the exception of unusual or exotic installations. Last year, the organization inspected and replaced bulbs in more than 250 vehicles locally.
