ANACORTES - Burlington-Edison scored 24 points in the first quarter and went on to defeat host Anacortes 52-7 in a Northwest Conference 2A/3A game on Friday, Sept. 28.
The Tigers improved to 4-1, 2-1 NWC 3A/2A while the Seahawks dropped to 0-5, 0-3 NWC 2A/3A.
Jeff Bajema got the scoring started with a 30-yard touchdown run for Burlington-Edison. Tigers quarterback Dalton Schetz then threw two touchdown passes, 15 yards to Peter Isaacson and 6 yards to Darren Arndt, for a 21-0 lead.
Burlington-Edison's big highlight the rest of the game was a 77-yard punt return for a touchdown by Darren Arndt and a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown by Christian Lopez.
Burlington-Edison next hosts Sehome on Friday, Oct. 5, while Anacortes travels to play Squalicum on Friday, Oct. 5.
