The Sehome volleyball team defeated Mount Baker 25-9, 23-25, 25-12, 25-7 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Mount Baker.
"We lost concentration in the middle of the second game," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview. "Mount Baker came out and played hard and didn't make a lot of mistakes in the second game. We need to serve and make the other team play the ball. It's hard to score points when you don't make them play the ball."
Sehome was led by Koko Kauhi's 16 kills, Megan Greer 41 assists and three aces and Kendra Thomas' 16 digs.
"Koko Kauhi had a great game outside," White said. "She played great defense and hit very well and played very smart. It was exactly what we needed."
Sehome is now 5-2, 4-1 NWC and will play at Bellingham on Tuesday, Oct. 2, while Mount Baker (0-6, 0-4 NWC) will host Lynden.
