The Squalicum volleyball team defeated Bellingham 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Squalicum.

"We played at our tempo tonight, nice and even," Squalicum coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview. "We didn't get too up or down."

The Storm was led by Mikayla Chang with 26 digs, Meghan Lowry with 10 kills and 20 digs and Kinsey Morris with eight kills.

"Mikayla played almost flawless on defense and did an amazing job getting to every ball on the court," Clift said.

Squalicum improved to 4-3, 2-3 NWC and will play at Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Oct. 2, while Bellingham (4-3, 3-2 NWC) will host Sehome.
