The Meridian volleyball team fell to Friday Harbor 25-15, 25-16, 25-23 in a non-conference match on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Meridian.

"We just struggled with passing and communicating tonight," Meridian coach Shannon Claeys said in a phone interview. "We definitely didn't play our best volleyball and had a lot of missed serves at critical times. There were a lot of errors on our side."

Meridian was led by Sydney Wasilewski with 12 kills and 12 digs and Nicole Hofbauer with three aces and 15 assists.

"Friday Harbor is a good passing team," Claeys said.

Meridian fell to 1-4, 0-3 NWC and will play at Blaine on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
