The Sehome girls' swim team defeated Archbishop Murphy 117-68 in a non-conference meet on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Bellingham.
"I was pleased with the results," Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview. "We are in the middle of heavey training and we got some good times."
Ellie Poehlman won the 200 freestyle for Sehome with a time of 2 minutes, 10.01 seconds. Poehlman also won the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.51.
Gwendolyn Roley also won two events for the Mariners. Roley had a state time in the 500 freestyle, swimming a 5:36.62, and won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:21.66
"Ellie and Gwendolyn really stood out as team leaders today," Helling said. "Gwendolyn's 500 freestyle time was a strong one."
Sehome improved to 5-0, 4-0 NWC and will next play at Ferndale on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
