The Lynden Christian girls' soccer team defeated Anacortes 4-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Lynden.
"It was a great turnaround from Tuesday," Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. "We were disappointed with how we played. This was a great bounce back match. We really played well together and used the whole field."
Courtney Hollander started off the scoring for the Lyncs in the second minute, getting the pass from her sister Haley Hollander.
Mikki Jansma, Sierra De Vries and Sara Dougan also scored for Lynden Christian.
"When we started to play sideline to sideline, which we were practicing, it created a lot of opportunites for us," De Ruyter said. "Kristen Zoerink played an incredibly intelligent game as a reserve central midfielder for us. When she came in she settled the team down and did a great job getting things going for us."
Lynden Christian improved to 5-3-1, 3-3-0 NWC and will play at Ferndale on Oct. 4.
