WCC women's soccer plays to tie

Published: September 27, 2012

Nothing changed at the top of the NWAACC North Division as the two top women's soccer teams, Whatcom Community College and Shoreline, played to a 1-1 tie Wednesday, Sept. 26, at WCC.

The teams are tied at 3-1-1 in league and the Orcas have an overall record of 5-1-1.

Kylie Garrison scored an unassisted goal for Whatcom in the 20th minute but Shoreline scored in the 48th minute to tie things up.

Allie Holterman had seven saves in goal for the Orcas.

Whatcom coach Claire Morgan said both teams got a look at each other and she looks forward to the next meeting, which will be Oct. 24.

"Yeah, nothing was really decided today," Morgan said in a phone interview. "I'm just glad we get a chance to play them again."

Next up for WCC, though, is a league game at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Clark.
