The Lynden boys' tennis team defeated Anacortes 5-2 in a Northwest Conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in Lynden.
Lynden won all of the doubles matches. Luke Reardon and Toby Dalla Santa defeated Kaleb Wigen and Jay Kiesser 6-2, 6-4 in the first doubles. In the second doubles Trevor Dalla Santa and Brock Benner defeated Alec Phillips and Garrett Manion 6-1, 6-2 and in the third doubles Grant Wolffis and Peter Jernberg defeated Kevin Xue and Jared Douglas 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
"I was really proud of our singles play today. We played some tough matches," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "Jay played a solid match against a solid player. It was a fun match all around."
Jay Roper lost to Jared Wigen of Anacortes 6-4, 7-6(1) in the first singles match.
Lynden improves to 5-4, 5-4 NWC and will play at Burlington-Edison on Friday, Sept. 28.
