The Squalicum girls' swim team defeated Lynden 111-61 in a Northwest Conference meet on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Lynden.
"We have had a lot of meets lately and we were tired," Squalicum coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview. "We swam some events we don't normally swim."
Squalicum was led by Maddie Dohm, who won the 200 freestyle in 2 minutes, 28.3 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 1:04. Dohm was also part of the 200 freestyle relay team along with Leanna Ekkelkamp, Janae Gallant and Abby Vonfeldt with a time of 1:59.3.
Olivia Nielsen swam the 200 individual medley in 2:22.4, a state qualifying time for the Storm.
"I was really pleased with Olivia's time in an event she doesn't swim too often," Gibb said.
Lynden won the 200 medley relay in 2:12.1 and the 400 freestyle relay in 4:25.1. Sarah Hollander, Payton Vogt, Hannah Hollander and Shelby Umbaugh were on the 200 medley relay team. Sarah, Hannah and Umbaugh were part of the 400 freestyle team along with Annie Uribe.
Squalicum improved to 4-0, 3-0 NWC and will host Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Oct. 2, while Lynden (0-4, 0-3 NWC) will host Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Oct. 4.
