The Squalicum volleyball team defeated Meridian 25-16, 25-13, 25-16 in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Meridian.
"The team played very well," Squalicum coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview. "We were very consistent and steady and minimized our errors. We capitalized on good sets and had a lot of good blocks and feel pretty confident coming off of tonight."
The Storm was led by Meghan Lowry with 11 kills and five blocks, Mikayla Chang with 28 digs and Erica McCord with 26 assists.
"Katie Alvord did a great job, too, playing in a different position for us," Clift said. "She came out and hit with authority and had seven kills."
Squalicum improved to 3-3, 1-3 NWC and will host Bellingham on Thursday, Sept. 27, while Meridian (1-3, 0-3 NWC) hosts Friday Harbor.
