The Squalicum girls' soccer team defeated Meridian 3-0 in Northwest Conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Meridian.
The Storm had goals from Kim Hazlett, Julia Devere and Gracie Slater with assists from Lizzy Herda and Kim Dorr.
Meridian coach Andrea Ames said she was proud of her girls despite the loss.
"Squalicum is a really quality team," Ames said in a phone interview. "The girls played tough and didn't back down. We played a better game today - even though we lost to them - than our last two games."
Lauren Eckert had four saves in goal for the Storm (5-1-1, 3-1-1), who play Bellingham at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Civic Stadium.
Abbi Rautenberg had five saves for the Trojans (5-2-1, 3-2-1), who host Friday Harbor at 4 p.m. that same day.
