The Bellingham girls' soccer team continued its undefeated streak in Northwest Conference play with a 4-1 win over Blaine on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Bellingham.
"I was impressed with our energy early in the game," Bellingham coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. "It was nice to get Kate Troutman a goal, she has been working hard."
Bellingham had two goals from Troutman and goals from Mia Hodges and Katie Bauer.
"I think in the second half we were able to settle down a little bit," Wright said. "We are still trying to figure out what our best tactic is. I was really happy with the energy we had and that we got to play some different kids."
Liz Berry scored the lone goal for the Borderites off an assist from Olivia Olason.
"I thought Olivia Olason took it to us in the middle energy-wise," Wright said. "I was really impressed with how Blaine played."
Bellingham improved to 5-3-1, 5-0-0 NWC and will play at Squalicum on Thursday, Sept. 27, while Blaine (2-5-1, 1-3-1 NWC) travels to Ferndale.
