Sehome continues undefeated streak, defeats Ferndale 3-0 in girls' soccer

Hanna Tarleton led the Sehome girls' soccer team to a 3-0 win over Ferndale with two goals and an assist in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Bellingham.

All of the Mariners' goals came in the second half.

"The first half was back and forth," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. "In the second we stepped it up a little bit and did a better job of keeping possession. We improved as we went along so to speak."

Ashley Mindnich scored the other goal for Sehome.

"Ashley put a lot of pressure on in the second half," Fountain said. "The defense as a whole did a great job keeping Ferndale's scorers in check. Ferndale has improved and played a lot better than the first time we saw them."

Sehome improved to 8-0-1, 5-0-0 NWC and will play at Mount Baker on Thursday, Sept. 27, while Ferndale (3-4-1, 3-2-0 NWC) will host Blaine.
