Western Washington University freshman Kristen Hansen had a strong finishing round for the second straight week and tied for 10th in medalist play with sophomore teammate Anna Bourland at the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Litchfield, Ariz.
The Vikings placed eighth in the team standings, shooting 304 for a 36-hole total of 622.
Host Grand Canyon won the 17-team tourney by five strokes with a score of 603 (301). Tying for second at 608 were Oklahoma Christian (306) and Cal State San Marcos (300), which finished with the best round of the event.
Hansen and Bourland each finished at 7-over par 151. Hansen shot 1-over 73 and Bourland 75.
