A photography exhibit that documents a remarkable chapter in Russian-American relations - the history of the joint Soviet-American fishing company, MRC, as well as the Nakhodka-Bellingham sister-city relationship - opens Sunday, Sept. 30, and runs through Jan. 6 at Whatcom Museum's Lightcatcher, 250 Flora St.

The exhibit provides a taste of life in a distant, little-known part of the Pacific Rim that has much in common with our own region. Georgy Pakin will be in Bellingham for the Sept. 30 opening and will lead a tour starting at 2 p.m. and talk about the works, taken while he was photojournalist for the Nakhodka city newspaper.
