The Lynden boys' tennis team was able to get one win at singles to help lead to a 4-3 win at Squalicum in Northwest Conference action on Monday, Sept. 24.
The win improved the Lions to 4-4, 4-4 NWC while the Storm dropped to 3-5, 3-5 NWC.
Lynden won at No. 4 singles with Jon Lucka 6-4, 6-4 and swept the three doubles matches. The Lions had doubles wins from Jay Roper/Mikal Olson at No. 1, Luke Reardon/Toby Dalla Santa at No. 2 and Trevor Dalla Santa/Brock Benner at No. 3.
Squalicum received wins at singles from James Tan at No. 1, Avery Wolfe at No. 2 and Tavo O'Connell at No. 3.
"I was pleased with the singles play out of James, Avery and Tavo," Squalicum coach Joe O'Brien said in a phone interview. "They all played well. It was a good solid win for James. He is improving."
Lynden next hosts Anacortes on Wednesday, Sept. 26, while Squalicum hosts Burlington-Edison on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
