The Sehome boys' tennis team improved to 8-0 in the Northwest Conference with a 7-0 win at Ferndale on Monday, Sept. 24.
The Mariners (10-1 overall) had singles wins from Avery West, Nick Smith, Brady Anderson and Sam Hupmhreys. Winning doubles for Sehome were Johan Lahud-Zahner/Jason Newell, Max Shmotolokha/Reece Gilbert and Trevor Press/Arie Knopp.
Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola was pleased with the effort from his No. 1 doubles team of Taylor Walton and Trevor Koehn in a 6-1, 6-4 loss.
"They competed well ... getting four games on them that set and a lot of deuces," Vendiola said in a phone interview.
Ferndale dropped to 0-8, 0-8 NWC.
