Western Washington University's Katelyn Steen has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 16-22.

Steen, a sophomore, led the Vikings to the team title at the Saint Martin's Invitational, finishing third with a time of 22:29 over the six-kilometer course.

Steen also placed third in the open division of the Sundodger Invitational the previous week.

As a freshman last year, Steen finishing 22nd at the NCAA Division II West Regional to earn all-star honors.
