Lummi quarterback Jared Tom tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another, as he led the Blackhawks to a 69-18 non-league win against Evergreen Lutheran on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Des Moines.
Tom was 10 of 18 for 213 yards, and backup quarterback Logan Toby passed for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
"We had some outstanding performances by a lot of guys," Lummi coach Jim Sandusky said in a phone interview. "Our O-line blocked really well and gave us some time to throw."
Dimitri Sampson and Deion Hoskins led Lummi's ground attack. Sampson carried the ball four times for 76 yards and two TDs, while Hoskins had four rushes for 78 yards and scored twice himself.
"Our running game really opened up our passing game today," Sandusky said.
Lummi put the game out of reach quick by scoring 31 points in the first quarter. By halftime, the Blackhawks had a 43-12 lead.
Austin Brockie caught four balls for 175 yards and hauled in two TDs, Sampson caught three passes for 65 yards and scored and Free Borsey racked up 46 yards and a touchdown.
Lummi's next game is against Neah Bay at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in Lummi.
