Event at Bellis Fair will teach how to prepare for disasters

BELLINGHAM - People can learn on Monday, Sept. 24, how to prepare for local disasters as part of National Preparedness Month.

The event is 3 to 6 p.m. in the Target wing of Bellis Fair mall.

The Mt Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross, Puget Sound Energy and Frontier Communications are holding the event.

Handouts will be available, including tips for preparing your family and your business. There also will be new emergency apps for phones, and drawings that people can enter to win emergency supplies.
