Sehome defeated Squalicum 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-12 in a Northwest Conference volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Squalicum.
"I was really proud of the way the girls played tonight," Squalicum coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview. "We were consistent and fought and never gave up."
Squalicum was led by Meghan Lowry with 10 kills and 20 digs, Celia Larson with eight kills and Tirsa Randall-Grutter with 32 assists.
"Ilea Dibble was able to come out cold and get three key blocks for us and Katie Alvord played solid in the middle," Clift said.
Sehome was led by Taylor Lyall with 12 kills, Dani Johnson with 10 kills and Kendra Thomas with 21 digs.
"I think it went well. It was a win, but it wasn't the cleanest game," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview. "We didn't have control today, we just need to clean up on our side."
Squalicum fell to 2-3, 0-3 NWC and will play at Meridian on Tuesday, Sept. 25, while Sehome (3-2, 2-1 NWC) hosts Ferndale.
