The Squalicum girls' swimming team swept the events on its way to a victory over Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference meet on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Squalicum.
The Storm was led by Olivia Nielsen, Josephine Hegeberg and Abby Vonfeldt as each won at least three events.
"Olivia, Josephine and Abby were all really good," Squalicum coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview. "It was a very good meet. We are preparing for other meets and the girls swam well. They have been working hard and it shows."
Hegeberg swam a state qualifying time of 5 minutes, 44.4 seconds in the 500 freestyle for Squalicum.
Vonfeldt swam the 100 freestyle in 1:02.6 and the 100 backstroke in 1:08.9.
Nielsen won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:24.3 and was part of the 200 medley relay team with Shaye Fowler, Vonfeldt and Maddie Dohm, who swam a 2:05.00.
Squalicum is now 3-0, 2-0 NWC and will play at Lynden on Tuesday, Sept. 25, for their next NWC action.
