Sehome backup quarterback Daniel Ziegler was selected the Week 3 Football Player of the Week in an online vote at TheBellinghamHerald.com.

Ziegler received 38 of the 81 votes (46.9 percent) cast this week to beat out Lynden receiver Jalani Phelps and Squalicum running back Luke Weber.

Ziegler stepped in to replace usual starter Austin Rapp and hit all 12 passes he attempted for 185 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mariners to a 47-14 NWC 2A/3A victory over Anacortes on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Sehome next travels to Meridian on Friday, Sept. 21.
