Bellingham defeats Lynden 6-1 in tennis

The Bellingham boys' tennis team defeated Lynden 6-1 in a Northwest Conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Bellingham.

"You can see how close the matches were. Lynden as always was really solid," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "I think Nate Pearsall and Logan Schilder in the third doubles had an outstanding win. They may a really good comeback in both sets."

Pearsall and Schilder defeated Trevor Dalla Santa and Brock Benner 7-6 (7), 7-5. Bellingham's Brad Dale won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0.

"Brad did a great job, he didn't do much wrong and is very sound," Chronister said. "He has bounced back from sickness and has played really well."

Bellingham improved to 6-2, 5-1 NWC and will host Squalicum on Friday, Sept. 21, while Lynden (2-4, 2-4 NWC) will host Sedro-Woolley.
