A presentation on Veterans Affairs benefits for seniors will start at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Parkway Chateau Independent Retirement Residence, 2818 Old Fairhaven Parkway.

For seniors, VA benefits can help cover the cost of residing in an independent retirement community, according to organizers. Veterans who served active duty during wartime and who meet other requirements can qualify for up to $1,700 a month for a single veteran, or $2,000 for a couple. To RSVP, call 360-671-6060.
