The Nooksack volleyball team defeated Blaine 25-8, 25-13, 25-11 in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Nooksack.
The Pioneers were led by McKenzie Impero with 13 kills, Lindsay Hayes with eight kills and McKinna Larson with 24 assists and five aces.
"The game went really good for us," Nooksack coach Jennifer Simmons said in a phone interview. "We were really consistent. We are focusing on our serve receive and we were succesfull with that and our freeball passing, which really helped us tonight."
Nooksack improved to 1-1, 1-0 NWC and will play in the South Whidbey Invite on Saturday, Sept. 22. Blaine dropped to 0-3, 0-2 NWC and will host Anacortes on Thursday, Sept. 20.
