The Lynden Christian cross country teams participated in the Salt Creek Invite in Port Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 15.
The girls' team finished seventh overall and was led by Marissa Hielkema with a time of 19 minutes, 18 seconds which was good for 13th place. The next six runners each finished within 61 seconds of each other with McKenzie Young leading the group with a time of 20:45. The Lyncs had all seven runners finish in under 22 minutes, the first time Lynden Christian has had more than three finish so quickly.
The boys' side finished fifth and was led by Cody Velthuizen who ran a team record for this race, 15:50, and finished 16th overall. Hunter Weinert, Tyler Reardon, Jon Wiley and Weston Whitener all finished within 41 seconds of Velthuizen's time.
