Ferndale lost to Anacortes 121-47 in a Northwest Conference girls' swimming meet on Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Anacortes.
"It was a good meet," Ferndale coach Julia Garrison said in a phone interview. "We had a lot of girls swimming new events or ones they haven't swam in a long time."
Gianna Firpo-Hughes swam the 100 meter butterfly and the 500 meter freestyle for the first time for Ferndale in her three years competing for the Golden Eagles.
"We got to see what some goals are and where we are for the end of the season," Garrison said. "We saw Annalee (Holmdahl) and where she is in the breaststroke and where other girls are in their events."
Holmdahl swam the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 25.93 seconds. Homldahl was also part of the 200 meter medley relay team that won with a time of 2:22.36 with Caitlin Wilhoite, Katie McCormick and Alyssa Rankin.
Ferndale dropped to 1-1, 1-1 NWC and will play at Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
