Shirley Lam won two individual events and the Sehome girls' swim team defeated Sedro-Woolley and Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference double dual Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Fidalgo Pool in Anacortes.

The Mariners defeated Sedro-Woolley 127-41 and Burlington-Edison 131-32 to improve to 3-0 overall and 3-0 NWC.

"We had good swims," Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview.

Lam had the top swim in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 11.11 seconds and also took first in the 100 freestyle in 59.83. Other individual winners for the Mariners were Molly McGuire in the 200 medley (2:29.51), Ellie Poehlman in the 50 freestyle (28.94), Lauren Avery in the 500 freestyle (6:38.13), Megan Mundell in the 100 backstroke (1:12.29) and Hannah Holmgren in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.30).

Helling credited Mundell and Avery with having a good meet.

"They both did really well," Helling said.

Sehome took first in the all three relays: 2:06.94 in the 200 medley relay, 1:51.23 in the 200 freestyle relay and 4:00.72 in the 400 freestyle relay.

Burlington-Edison dropped to 0-2, 0-2 and Sedro-Woolley dropped to 0-3, 0-3.
