Ferndale can't hold on, falls 4-2 against Burlington-Edison in girls' soccer

Published: September 19, 2012

The Ferndale girls' soccer team lost 4-2 in a Northwest Conference game against Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Burlington-Edison.

Ferndale's Dasia Washington scored in the first minute of the game and Kelli Bannerman scored in the 35th to tie the game back up, but the Golden Eagles couldn't hold on.

"I think we need to work on some basic stuff. We went away from the basics and it hurt us today," Ferndale coach Joe Gonzalez said in a phone interview. "It was disappointing to see the simple stuff break down. Burlington played hard and won most of the airballs and fifty-fifties and they deserved to win today."

Ferndale fell to 2-3-1, 2-1-0 NWC and will play at home against Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Sept. 20.
