Taylor Lunde scored twice and the Meridian girls' soccer team went on to beat host Sedro-Woolley 6-0 in Northwest Conference action Tuesday, Sept. 18.
The win improved the Trojans to 4-0-1, 3-0-0 while the Cubs dropped to 1-3-1, 0-2-1.
"We scored a lot of goals, but it actually wasn't our prettiest game," Meridian coach Andrea Ames said in a phone interview. "We have a lot of things we can improve on. But I told the girls you have to feel good about a 6-0 win."
Gladys Galiano scored first for the Trojans in the third minute. Lexi McKinnon (25th minute) and Haley Belanger (30th) followed with goals before Lunde scored two in a row. Karissa Culley scored the last goal for Meridian.
Abbi Rautenberg was in goal for the shutout for the Trojans.
