Webster, Sehome defeat Anacortes 4-0 in girls' soccer

Published: September 19, 2012

Emily Webster had a hat trick as the Sehome girls' soccer team defeated Anacortes 4-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Anacortes.

Webster has moved into a new role for the Mariners and is now playing as an attacking midfielder.

"I have been working on her being more selfish and taking more shots," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. "She has a new role and has been stepping up and doing it. Her and Nikki Thon did a great job controlling the midfield."

Thon had two assists. Alia Jones had a goal and an assist for Sehome.

"I thought it was a good game," Fountain said. "The field is small and I thought we did a good job of using the space we had and passing and creating opportunities."

Sehome improved to 5-0-1, 3-0-0 NWC and will host Squalicum on Thursday, Sept. 20.
