BELLINGHAM - People interested in Special Olympics, whether athletes, caregivers, involved families or those who want to learn more, are invited to a potluck celebration Saturday, Sept. 22.
This is the third year Bellingham Special Olympics will be celebrating Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day, this time from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bloedel Donovan Park gym. People are asked to bring a dish to share; plates and utensils will be provided. Donations to help with cost are appreciated.
Shriver founded Special Olympics. Athletes in Bellingham Special Olympics participate in bowling, basketball, swimming, soccer and softball.
