Western Washington University's Claire Rachor is in an eight-way tie for 13th place in medalist play and the Vikings are ninth in the team standings after first-day action Monday, Sept. 17, at the first Angelo State University Concho River Classic being played at the Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo, Texas.
Tuesday's final round begins at 8 a.m.
The Vikings shot 321 in their season-opening round. St. Edward's is leading at 297, three shots ahead of Midwestern State.
"We had a good round going, but we struggled at the end," said WWU coach Bo Stephan. "We didn't look tournament sharp, but that's to be expected in our first competition. We can definitely put a good round together tomorrow."
Rachor shot a 4-over 76 to lead the Vikings.
Two WWU players, Anna Bourland and Kristen Hansen are tied for 37th, each shooting 81.
