Come to the inaugural Whatcom SkillShare Faire between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Deming Logging Show grounds, 3295 Cedarville Road, near Nugents Corner, to learn about all kinds of new and old-time skills for building personal and community self-reliance, including demonstrations and information on blacksmithing, solar oven-building, fiber-spinning and herbal remedies.
Bring items to barter if you like, and stay for an evening of great music and dancing following the fair. Admission is $10 for a car and driver, $2 each for passengers and walk-in, and $1 for ages 65 and older.
