WCC ends tournament with two game split

Published: September 16, 2012

The Whatcom Community College volleyball team finished the Edmonds Crossover Tournament by splitting a pair of games against Walla Walla and Edmonds Saturday, Sept. 15, in Edmonds.

The Orcas lost in three sets to Wallla Walla and beat Edmonds 2-1 in three sets.

WCC coach Jeff McDonald said outside hitter Alicia Ford and defensive specialist Karley Eggert had strong performances.

"It was awesome, she had a really consistent tournament," McDonald said of Ford during a phone interview. "She probably ended up being our leading scorer. Karley Eggert has been fantastic so far. No matter the ups and downs, she is doing her part."

The Orcas' next match is their conference opener against Everett at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at WCC.
