Sehome remains perfect on season with win over Burlington-Edison

The Sehome boys' tennis team stayed perfect on the season with a 7-0 Northwest Conference win against visiting Burlington-Edison on Friday, Sept. 14.

The win improved the Mariners to 4-0, 4-0 NWC while the Tigers dropped to 2-3, 2-2 NWC.

Sehome had singles wins from Avery West, Nick Smith, Brady Anderson and Johan Lahud-Zahner. Winning in doubles for the Mariners were Andrew Bruce/Jason Newell, Ben Carroll/Sam Humphreys and Reece Gilbert/Max Shmopolohka. Carroll and Humphreys came back to win in three sets after dropping the second set.

"The doubles coming back the way they did was probably the highlight," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview.

Sehome plays at Lynden at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in an NWC match.
