The Squalicum girls' soccer team defeated Burlington-Edison 2-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Sept. 13, in Bellingham.
Leigha Schelderup scored the first goal in the 66th minute for the Storm and Lauren Wallace added the second seven minutes later.
"It wasn't our best first half and that was when they had their two shots," Squalicum coach David Kish said in a phone interview. "We were really disorganized in the beginning. They knew they didn't play well coming out at halftime and did a lot better in the second."
Squalicum didn't allow a shot in the second half of the game.
"It was a total team effort," Kish said. "The ball was in their end for most of the second half, it was just a matter of getting it into the back of the net.
Squalicum improved to 2-0-1, 1-0-0 NWC and will host Lynden on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
