The Bellingham girls' soccer team defeated Mount Baker 5-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Bellingham in a Northwest Conference match.
Bellingham was led by Brooke Baker and Larkyn Nelson as each scored two goals.
"We were tenacious and used our speed which is the strength of our team," Bellingham coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. "We had some magnificent goals and everyone on our team played with a lot of hunger. Our defense played great in the shutout."
Bri Macri scored the other goal for the Red Raiders.
Midfielders Mary Dyrland and Cashel Vincent registered all three assists for Bellingham.
"Mary and Cashel played really hard for us tonight," Wright said. "The outside mids run really hard and they did great."
Bellingham (1-2-1, 1-0-0 NWC) plays at Lynden on Thursday, Sept. 13. Mount Baker fell to 1-2-1, 0-1-0 NWC and will travel to Ferndale on Thursday.
