Ferndale defeated Anacortes 2-0 in a Northwest Conference girls' soccer match on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Anacortes.
"The girls played fantastic. They are starting to gel and come into their own," Ferndale coach Joe Gonzalez said in a phone interview. "It was an exciting game to watch and the girls believe a little more in themselves."
Leigh Sund and Jordin Bartel scored the goals for the Golden Eagles.
"Jordin was huge today, she got her first goal and her finish was great," Gonzalez said. "She had a good game for us today and she is coming into her own."
Ferndale (1-2-1, 1-0-0 NWC) is at home on Thursday, Sept. 13, against Mount Baker.
