The Sehome girls' swim team won every event as it went on to beat Lynden 144-46 in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Lynden.
Sehome had two state qualifying times in the meet. Gwendolyn Roley, Hannah Holmgren, Shirley Lam and Ellie Poehlman had a time of 2 minutes, 2 seconds in the 200 medley relay. Roley also had a state qualifying time of 5:39.65 in the 500 freestyle.
"It was a great way to start off our duel meets," Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview. "We had solid swims and I was really pleased with our freshman swimmers. Gwendolyn was my pick for swimmer of the meet because she was part of the two state qualifying times."
Sehome (1-0) will play at Sedro-Wolley on Thursday, Sept. 20 for its next conference meet. Lynden falls to 0-1 and will travel to Bellingham on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
