Ferndale drops close match against Sedro-Woolley

The Ferndale boys' tennis team lost a close Northwest Conference match to Sedro-Woolley 4-3 on Monday, Sept. 10, at Ferndale.

The loss dropped the Golden Eagles to 0-2.

"It was a very close match," Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola said in a phone interview. "We are still trying different combinations. The players came out and competed."

Ferndale got singles wins from Nate Fallis at No. 3 and Josh Mielke at No. 4. Winning in doubles for the Golden Eagles were Evan Chatman and Matt Scott at No. 1.

Ferndale plays at Anacortes on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
