Western Washington University freshman forward Jessica Bertucci has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 1-8.
Bertucci scored the game-winning goals in both of the Vikings' 2-0 wins over Hawaii Pacific and Azusa Pacific. She also had an assist in the Azusa Pacific contest.
Bertucci has scored goals in each of WWU's three wins this season. The Vikings' only loss was 1-0 at nationally No.4- ranked Chico State.
WWU opens Great Northwest Athletic Conference play this week on the road, traveling to Western Oregon on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) and to Saint Martin's on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
