Squalicum opens volleyball season with win over La Conner

Kinsey Morris had eight aces to help lead the Squalicum volleyball team to a season-opening 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 over La Conner in non-conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Squalicum.

It was the Storm's first win over La Conner in the past four years of playing each other.

"This was a good confidence builder for them," Squalicum coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview.

Meghan Lowry added 10 kills and Kayla Chang had 12 digs for the Storm.

Squalicum hosts Bellingham, Ferndale, Meridian and Mount Baker at the Squalicum Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8.
