State Department of Transportation crews will repave worn sections of Mount Baker Highway and repair several bumpy bridge transitions this week near Mt. Baker Ski Area.
The crews will close one lane of the highway from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Thursday, Sept. 6, between mileposts 47 and 50, just west of the ski area.
At times, crews will temporarily close the highway for up to 30 minutes to make bridge repairs. Drivers should expect delays.
The work is separate from a paving project currently in progress further west on the highway between mileposts 38 and 42. That project also can cause traffic delays during the day. It is scheduled to end in mid-September.
