Outside hitter Marlayna Geary posted her third straight double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs, both match highs, as Western Washington University remained unbeaten with a 25-14, 25-22, 25-12 victory over Grand Valley State University in second-day action Friday at the Western Oregon University Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Monmouth, Ore.

The 3-0 Vikings, who hit .386 as a team, also got 10 kills from Jennica McPherson and Emily Boerger had a match-high five block assists. Setter Laurie Yearout contributed 31 assists, seven digs, three kills and 1 block assist.

"It was just an all-around steady match, one of the best I've seen," WWU head coach Diane Flick said in a news release. "I'm just really proud of them. It was great."

Geary had no errors in 21 attempts for an attack percentage of .520. She now has 988 career kills, 12 shy of becoming the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000.

The Vikings close out WOU tourney action Saturday, Sept. 1, with a 5 p.m. match against Missouri University of Science and Technology.
