BELLINGHAM - The city's Arts Commission is accepting resumes and images of previous artwork from artists who would like to create a public sculpture for Big Rock Garden Park. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 21.
Big Rock in Bellingham has about 36 permanent sculptures on display.
Artists living in Washington and contiguous states, as well as in Vancouver, B.C., can submit their qualifications for the $10,000 project, which is being paid for through a private donation.
To see the request for qualifications, go online to cob.org and type "arts commission" into the search window. Finalists will be selected from the qualification submittals.
